Data & Markets
The DAILY data desk turns scattered signals into a readable picture: what public tech is doing, where private capital is flowing, and who is quietly staffing up for their next move.
What the desk tracks
Three feeds anchor the desk. Big-tech tickers give us the public-market backdrop that private valuations eventually answer to. The funding-rounds database records who raised, at what stage, and from whom. The hiring radar watches headcount as a forward indicator of intent.
Read together, these tell a story no single dataset can. A cooling ticker, a slower funding quarter, and a hiring freeze in the same sector is a chorus, not a coincidence.
How we source it
We build from primary and reputable secondary sources: public filings, official announcements, exchange data, and disclosed rounds. Where we aggregate third-party data, we note it and prefer figures we can corroborate across at least two independent places.
Numbers get a timestamp and a source, always. Stale data presented as current is worse than no data at all.
How we present it
Charts should answer a question, not decorate a page. We favor clear comparisons over dense dashboards, and we lead with the takeaway so you are not left to reverse-engineer the point.
When a trend is genuinely ambiguous, we show the ambiguity rather than force a clean line through messy dots.
The caveats
Private-market data is incomplete by nature. Valuations can be paper figures, undisclosed rounds distort totals, and reporting lags mean recent quarters always look thinner than they are.
So we treat data as evidence, not verdict. None of it is investment advice, and we would rather flag a limitation than sell you false precision.
